Obituary 17 February 1926


Mr. Thomas Bentley Johnson, a well-known and highly respected resident of the district, died at his residence at Narracoorte on Friday. He had been in indifferent health during the past 12 months. He was born in Balhannah in 1860, and went to the Lucindale district about 1877, being among the earliest settlers there. Mr. Johnson engaged in farming and grazing successfully. In 1894 he was married to the eldest daughter of Mr. Henry Langberg, of Conmurra, but latterly of Narracoorte. He resided in the Lucindale district until about three years ago, when he removed to Narracoorte. He has left a widow and family of three adult daughters - Mrs. D. H. Irving, of Kybybolite, and Misses Edith and Ette Johnson, of Narracoorte.
